Hey guys, this is Mabel Rodriguez, and you’re watching MabelontheReel, Hello. Okay, so, excuse me. I just had a shake. An amazing shake.
Okay…so the other day, I was at Sephora watching someone get their make-up done. A beautiful woman who never had fake eyelashes before. Anyway…the interesting part was when the make-up artist asked her “Do you want fake lashes?” Before she answered, she looked over at her significant other for permission. I thought ‘interesting.’ Her significant other shook his head ‘no.’ So her reply was also “No.”
I was thinking I’ve got to say something here. “You know what?” I asked her. “Have you ever lashes before?” She looked at me surprisingly then replied “No, I never have.”
“Well, why don’t you just put them on. They make you look amazing, and you can get some that are not that extravagant. Something a little more on the natural look. You have to try it sometime” I said.
Side note: Back in the day, I was addicted to lashes. I used to get them done every three weeks.
Anyway, she again looked over to her man for assurance. So, this is the thing. I’m not here to put anyone down, but the reason why I’m bringing this story up is because I used to be that girl that constantly looked for validation, acceptance and approval from a person that I was with. You know what?… it really doesn’t matter what they (whomever you’re with) say, as long as you feel good. As long as you like it.
When you love something so much, you radiate this magnetic energy. You radiate this confidence like no other, because you’re doing “You.”
And it’s a perfect way for you to step into your power as a woman and say, “This is me. This is what I like. This is how it’s going to be.”
I would love to see more women question their motives. Let me take this back a bit. If someone that you’re dating questions you and says something like “I don’t like what you’re wearing.” Just stand in your power and be like, “That’s okay because I like it.”
And that’s what really matters. I mean, yeah, it’s natural to want to please them-Of course! It’s because you care. But, when it gets down to the nitty gritty, to the final decision-Do you. Do what makes you feel good. Because when you do, you rock it, and you have this amazing energy that emanates from you. It produces a radiant light. Now that’s freaking hot.
I just had to bring that up because, yeah, I used to be that girl that was questioning myself all the time. The YouTube ID of Insert video URL or ID here is invalid. And over the years, I just started to become more comfortable with what’s me. What makes me feel good. What I like. And owning it.
I’m not saying you can’t ask your significant other, but if you really like something and you want to do it, screw what they say, do what’s right for you.
And let me tell you, when you rock it, that’s when they’re going to be like “Oh, I like that.” Half the time, guys don’t even know what they like until they see it. Okay? And when you’re rocking it and you’re emanating this confidence, then they’re thinking “That’s hot. Love it.” So, that’s my message for you. I’ll see you on the next episode.
